Information Security Officer

• Excellent leadership skills with good communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to create a team spirit among personnel.
• A minimum of 3 years past experience in a similar position.
• At least a Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or equivalent from a reputed university; plus an IT Security qualification is highly desired.
Key Role
Job Description
• Serve as an internal information security consultant to the organization.
• Advise the organization with current information about information security technologies and related regulatory requirements.
• Document / enhance information security policies & procedures.
• Perform risk assessment practices using appropriate tools to identify, rate, and reduce the risk to specific information assets.
• Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files.
• Conduct security awareness training to make employees aware of the need for information security, its significance, and the specific security-related requirements relative to the employees’ positions.
• Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures.
• Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated.
• Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
• Review all system-related security plans throughout the organization's network, acting as a liaison to Information Technology.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned from time to time.
